This forum is a community forum meant for users of the plugin to collaborate and help solve issues with implementation, etc. Unfortunately, as the creator of the plugin, I do not have much time to attend to every request here as this is only a side project and I must work a full-time job to provide for my family. This is how I keep the Flash version free and the HTML5 version low cost.
UploadiFive 1.1.1 has been released which includes a small fix for added support on touch devices including iOS 6 devices.
Uploading bigger files crashes browser
  • Hello,

If I try to upload a 1GB file or even bigger files, Google Chrome crashes when I press the Upload Files button / Firefox simply does not do anything after pressing the button.

I would like to mention that I am currently using Uploadify and I can upload files up to 2GB - so the PHP settings are ok for files up to 10GB.

I have paid for Uploadifive in order to be able to upload bigger files than 2GB - because I thought Uploadify is somekind limited by Flash, but it seems I have paid for nothing.
  • Chrome crashes for me when I tried to upload 200MB file. I am getting aw, snap! from Chrome.

Firefox works fine. Has anybody tried to upload files larger than 300M?
  • I'm also having issue with file sizes. Why did I pay for this POS?
  • I am having the same issues - seems to be local & javascript related, as other HTML5 upload widgets work fine on my operating system (Mac OSX) and web browser (Chrome, like above.) Perhaps the code is causing some sort of infinite loop within Chrome? Please investigate, thank you.
  • I just released v1.0.3. Have you tried it with the newest version yet? It's using the FormData object instead of the Chrome binary hack, which might solve the issues you are all having.
  • Hey RonnieSan,

Looks like v1.0.3 is working like a charm now. Uploading 2,5GB+ files without any problem using Firefox 11 and Chrome 20 on Mac OSX.

    Thanks a lot!
