Checking for browser compatibility

Does anyone have recommedations on how one can check with the help of javascript if uploadify will work on a specific browser and accordingly use uploadify if compatible or fire an alternative script in case of incompatibility.

Testing is the only option to see if it actually works, you could then check for the flash version see this example: http://www.newtriks.com/?p=879
Here is some results from my tests over past few days:
(on Windows 7 32Bit in an ASP.NET MVC App on IIS)
32 Bit Windows 7:
Chrome 7.0.517.44, Flash Player 10.1.103.19
Safari 5.0.3 (7533.19.4)) Flash Player 10,1,102,64
Firefox 3.6.12, Flash Player 10,1,102,64
Internet Explorer 8, Flash Player 10,1,102,64
Internet Explorer 9 BETA, Flash Player 10,2 BETA (works in compatinbilty mode only)
Does not work on:
32 Bit Windows 7:
Internet Explorer 9 BETA, Flash 10,2 BETA - non compatiblity mode
